Default Hulu Plus for the iPad Receives an Update with a Focus on Content Discovery

Hulu users that enjoy using the streaming service on their iPad can now download a new version of the app, one that features a full redesign, new capabilities, and features aimed at making discovering content easier than before.

Version 3.0 of Hulu adds the ability to minimize a video during playback by tapping an icon or pinching the video. Doing so shrinks the video down to occupy only a selection of the bottom portion of the screen, which allows users to continue to browse content even while their current show keeps playing.

Users can also tap on an image of an episode, show, or season to discover more information about it in the discovery panel. Another thing found in the update is the ability to check out collections of editorially curated video content, as well as the option to watch clips and short-form content inline.

Those of you who are interested in downloading the 12.3 MB update can do so from the iTunes App Store for free. The app is compatible with both iPads and iPad minis running on iOS 5.0 or later.

I cancelled this immediately when I found out it still has ads when you pay for it. Thats the lamest thing I've ever heard of. I bet there are tons of people that have cancelled for the same reason. I hope their ads are worth it.
