128GB iPad Now Available for Order On Apple's Web Site

For those of you eager to get ahold of Apple’s new 128GB offering of iPad with retina display, the wait is now over! The tablet is now available for order on Apple's Web site, and is indicated by the light-orange "New" banner, as shown above.
The 128GB iPad with retina display doubles the previous max size of the device (64GB) and is offered in both the Wi-Fi only model, and the cellular+Wi-Fi model. The Wi-Fi only model can be had for $799.00, while the cellular+Wi-Fi model can be had for $929.00.
The cellular+Wi-Fi version of the mega-storage iPad with retina display is available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint’s cellular networks, and the tablet will ship within 1-3 business days of placing your order. Note that the iPad Mini is not offered in 128GB at this time.
Considering that there is a high demand for storage these days, there is a very decent chance that the new 128GB iPad with retina display could start to see major increases in shipping time, so if you’re interested, we suggest you hop on this opportunity as soon as possible, or else be prepared to wait a while.

Got myself a 16gb gsm now jailbroken on 6.1 using an iPad camera kit with USB and a 128Gb jump drive from ebay.
Maybe a tad slower than soldered in ram but for over 900 bucks I'd rather spend the money on a MacBook Air.
This only cost $60.00 over the price of the 16gb model for a 144gb iPad. Movies, music, etc works great and still compact!

How long ago did 128 gb hard drives stop costing $300 ? Just absurd . Apple taking a few steps back here. Ipad Mini right now is there best product, until they go to a 5 inch display iphone. IMO

Nice! Apple trying to move the "slowed" iPad line since iPad Mini has cannibalized it, by adding more memory. This on the heels of an iPad redesign. This move is really targeted at saps, suckers and "butter n egg" men. Saying...

Why, in the WORLD, would anyone want 128GB of storage??!? With iTunes Match and everything in the cloud these days (I have a 12,900 song library) I never need any more than a 16GB. iTunes Match is only $25/year. Most of us spend way more than that on a new iPhone every year..
Here to help if I can.
If I can't - I know someone who can.

Apple bought up so much they got it dirt cheap. I'll agree price per mb is higher on flash. I have a 500gb Samsung SSD that cost me 350. Apple would charge 800-1000 for a 512gb upgrade.
So if it's 100 every double the size (16, 32, 64, 128, etc) that would make a 512gb iPad cost 999/1129. So how does a macbook air cost 300 more when going from 128gb to 256gb, or 500 more going from 256gb to 512gb. The storage is the only thing changing in each model. The funny part is a 11" air with 64gb is 100 less than the 128GB model. The 13" 128gb is 300 less than the 256gb model.
Yet the way apple charges a 512gb iPad would be 1599/1729Last edited by Cokeman; 02-05-2013 at 03:16 PM.
If I can't mod it...I don't want it.
