Conan O'Brien Takes a Jab at Apple's Growing Tablet Lineup

Apple recently introduced the iPad mini just last week with the device expected to hit store shelves this Friday. Despite analyst predictions, when pre-orders opened the white 16GB iPad mini sold out within 16 minutes, which goes to show that the device is one that is in high demand. Not everyone appears to be sold on the device’s offerings though.

Among those who are not is Conan O’Brien, who aired a video taking a jab at Apple’s ever-expanding range of tablet iOS devices. The video that aired last night on his show mocks Apple’s choice of taking the iPad and just introducing the same feature set in different sizes. One of the funnier parts of the skit was the naming convention which consistently increased as more and more tablets were introduced. Last but not least, the slogan at the end was the kicker to end it all: “We’re drunk with power.”

I love his Apple rants not only cause they are hilarious but in many aspects they are TRUE. Don't hate on Conan he is a comedian and they are paid to point out the obvious and make it funny :]

I mean people like different sizes but why is it apple being focused on? Hmm ever heard of 90 different droid tablets/phones all different sizes. Apple has changed sizes hardly ever.

Because you ARE a fan boy is that you don't get the joke, the very end of the bit explains the joke in it. It's not about the size or that they all look the same, it's the fact that Apple makes the same thing, equal in every way but the size, rename it 20 times, and it is still the same thing, and yet charges us a retail price when the only real upgrade is a screen size, or downgrade in the case of the iPad Mini. And this time apple just went overboard, the iPad mini has the VERY SAME SPECS as the iPad 2, yet they are selling it at more than half the original price of the iPad 2. And that is were the joke finds its root.

...ummm, I didn't get that at all and I thought the video was hilarious!

I just think they wanted to make fun of all the names that Apple has for one product and then roll w/ that idea! Making it even funnier is the identical item w/ two names.

The skit never talked about price or specs!?!?! Not sure what u were reading into...
