Apple Releases iPad mini Smart Cover Ad

With the debut of the iPad mini yesterday, Apple also released a short advertisement that promotes the iPad mini Smart Cover. It can be found on Apple’s official YouTube account and spans a total length of 36 seconds.

The commercial features piano music and focuses on how magnetically attached the Smart Cover is to the iPad mini. It also showcases the wide selection of colors the Smart Cover for the iPad mini comes in, including: pink, green, blue, light gray, dark gray and (PRODUCT) RED. One interesting thing that Apple does when showcasing the colors is doing so to the beat of the song, including some fun interactions with the Smart Covers appearing to be piano keys and fingers tapping on the iPad mini to the beat of the music being played by the piano.

It isn't much of a surprise to see the same accessories found on the regular iPads appearing to come in miniature versions to support the iPad mini as well. For those of you who are getting an iPad mini, will you be picking up a Smart Cover to go along with it?

I found it interesting how they use only three sections as opposed to the four to accommodate the smaller screen in the Smart Cover. Using the non metal vertex as support when folded back was quite genius by the design team.

It's an issue with the app which will hopefully get resolved. To get around it simply click the button in the top right and open the article in safari...

Agreed^^ I like that its not metal on metal any longer. My iPad two looks like its been through a war on the side where the smart cover meets the iPad haha. Can't wait to get one of these Minis!

Didn't apple say the 3.5 screen on the iPhone was a "sweet spot" and that 7" tablets are too small? Now there is a 4" iPhone & 7.9" tablet? Hahaha Steve would be so proud. Phill Schiller and Cook can jump off a cliff holding hands for all I care. Steve's Apple>Tim's Apple
