Report Claims Apple Could Release iPad 3 With Updated Internals

Apple will reportedly release a new iPad 3 with updated internals alongside the iPad Mini.

The improved iPad 3 will utilize the new Apple A6 processor as well implement Apple’s new “Lightning” connector. The new iPad won’t be considered an iPad 4 (obviously), but the early update is somewhat uncharacteristic of Apple, even though rumors have pointed to Apple bringing their entire iDevice in-line with the new connector.

A SKU sheet uncovered by 9to5Mac appears to indicate new SKUs for the iPad 3, in addition to the new SKUs for the iPad Mini. While nothing is certain, Apple could have a busy announcement next week if the rumored iMac refresh, iPad mini, and new iPads surface.

Yeah they could release an updated iPad, but around march like they normally do.

So, in theory, when would a ipad '4' be released? I'm set to get the latest ipad at the end of Jan - but was told there might be another revision in March time. I know, it's all guess work but wondering if Apple are going to release a completely updated version before the summer of 2013.

I bought an iPad 3 which arrived the day before the launch of iOS 6 (lucky for me since it meant I could jailbreak it) and if they are updating it already I'm going to be annoyed that I didn't wait...

I think they will release it as 'the new iPad 4' because if they release it as an updated version of iPad 3, they will have to invent a lot of things for the iPad 4.

Why? Will yours stop working the second a newer one comes out? You think an updated iPad is bad? Imagine being an Android owner. They get "newer" and "better" devices released every couple months.

Apple won't even give u a white one if you had a black one so there's very little chance of trading it for an updated one
