Report: Microsoft Office Coming to iPad November 10th

As MMi reported earlier this month, the latest scuttlebutt in the mobile tech world is that Microsoft Office will arrive on Apple's iPad and iPhone this fall.
Now it looks like there is a specific date attached to the rumor. This morning, sources told The Daily that Microsoft has completed work on the iPad project. As a result, the date of November 10th has allegedly been set for Microsoft to release Office for the iPad.
"The app is now in the hands of a usability team that appraises software that utilizes the Metro design language for 'Metro compliance' and suggests changes as needed," the report reads. "When approved by the team, the app likely will go to Apple for app store approval, which could take a couple of weeks."Microsoft will launch Office for iPad on Nov. 10, The Daily has learned. This follows reports earlier this month that a late fall release was likely.
As some will recall, earlier this year, curious images of Office running on the iPad were published in the mainstream media, but Microsoft quickly shot down reports that stated the obvious. Now it appears inevitable that this long-awaited development is about to finally happen.

If this is true (we'll see) I'm not sure what MS is thinking. Obviously, they'll make money. I just wouldn't put arguably my biggest selling point on a competing product when my own tablets are due to be released around the same time.
Then again, they do software, not hardware... I guess it's the same ol' thing. They make Office for Mac, after all.
