[Review] Lyricalizer - Instant Music Lyrics for iPad
Are you angry at the fact of Apple removing lyric functionality in the iPad’s Music application in iOS 5? A new jailbreak tweak dubbed Lyricalizer by iOS developer ac3xx will permit you to get those lyrics back where they belong and they will display very attractively over the large album artwork, which takes advantage of the iPad’s large screen. Not only that, but the lyrics will be vacuumed up from the internet and placed in the Music application for you, so you won't have to painstakingly enter your song's lyrics through iTunes anymore!
Lyricalizer works in both landscape or portrait orientation from the stock iOS Music application, but does not currently work on any other kind of music application from the App Store or from Cydia such as Grooveshark, Pandora, or Spotify. Lyricalizer does not support any device besides the iPad right now; conversely, the developer is working on a universal version that will also work on the iPhone and iPod touch (which both currently still support lyrics). Since the iPad had its lyrical functionality stripped from its pride, the developer found it fit to release the iPad version first.
Unfortunately, Lyricalizer does not store the lyric information it finds of the song the way iTunes does – within the file. If you sync a song where you found lyrics to the computer, the lyrics will not transfer over to the computer with the song. The developer is considering this feature for a future update and it would be super cool since it requires less work for entering lyric information in iTunes. Lyricalizer uses three services to find lyrics; MetroLyrics, AZLyrics, and Lyrics.com in that specific order, which makes it almost fail-proof for finding lyrics for your music. When one fails, it moves to the next.
With a decent Internet connection, lyrics will be downloaded and displayed within one second. At most, it can take around two seconds. Are you wondering how to get the lyrics to show up? – It’s simple. You get into the Album Artwork view by tapping on the album artwork icon in the top ribbon and the tweak does the rest for you automatically.
It’s very surprising that Apple phased out the lyric functionality of the iPad, but not only can you get the functionality back with this tweak, but it’s also automatic. I’d say the functionality is great, taking advantage of that amazingly large screen to show you your lyrics, and the ease of use is even better. I could recommend this tweak to anyone who listens to music on their iPad. Lyricalizer requires iOS 5 to install and there are no preferences to configure from the Settings application.

Why would they ever remove this functionality? I have lyrics tagged for every track in my iTunes library. I'd hate for them to remove it.

As I've said in the past... Start selling your Apple stock. The keynote was dry, as is Tim Cook and his flow of creativity. Hold stocks for the iPad 3, but Apple is almost at it's peak. The lack of innovation in all products should be an instant warning sign.
