Retina Display Infographic for iPad 3 Created
Recently, Clkoerner put together an infographic which shows the relative number of pixels offered by various devices, including that of the upcoming iPad 3. In the infographic, he puts down different references including that of a 1920x100 full high-definition screen to show that the new iPad’s screen may be better than all of them.
This is with the assumption that the iPad 3 comes with its rumored “Retina Display.” The rumors and the evidence afloat are pointing towards the New York Times report, where an anonymous Apple employee mentioned that the iPad would have a “truly amazing screen.” Since then, there has been a multitude of leaks pointing towards information regarding the next-generation iPad.
Going back to the graphic, it conveys the screen resolutions relative to one another assuming that they all have the same DPI (dots per inch). As of right now, the iPad 3 screen is believed to be the same size as the iPad 2 but have twice the density of pixels. What that means is that the iPad 3 will have images which are much sharper compared to the previous models. This will result in all third party applications being forced to update to support the higher resolution display, which is what we saw when previous iOS devices had been released.
As for right now, you’ll have to stay tuned for more information as Apple is reportedly lining up demos for the March launch.

If this article is accurate, then I may have to buy an iPad - I create digital artwork, and most of the time digital art looks better in print because of the amount of dots per inch is far greater in printing, but that completely negates the beauty of create artwork as points of light. This screen would bridge that divide for me - finally I'll be able to display my art as it was intended!
I may have to buy an iPad, finally.

"the iPad 3 screen is believed to be the same size as the iPad 2 but have twice the density of pixels. "
Bzzzt. Quadruple the density, if density = pixels per unit area. Twice the pixels per dimension (x & y).

A 300dpi TV is pointless as you're a great enough distance away when sitting on your sofa to not see the pixels.

Can I get an upgrade to my retina to go with the iPad 3 ?? (or a youth pill .. )
I can't see pixels on the iPad 2 even with my glasses on!

So..are we talking the same Size device? with THAT kind of Resolution?. Don't get me Wrong...I'm going to buy the next gen iPad JUST for the fact that it's going to be LTE..BUT..wouldn't it be AWESOME...to have THAT type of resolution.

Is it just me, or is this the worst info graphic ever?! Looks more like a PSD template for creating a twitter background. They could have incorporated for relevant facts on iPad evolution or something.
Still functional to show the added pixels buttttttttttt, I don't know if I'd called this an "info graphic"
