BGR iPad 3 Report Includes Leaked Details Confirming Quad-Core Processor

Boy Genius Report is reporting they obtained information confirming information about the upcoming iPad 3.

The leaked information in question comes from some images sent BGRs way by a source claiming to actually have an iPad 3. While there’s plenty reason to doubt BGR’s source, the leaked information does corroborate well with previous reports by DigiTimes concerning the iPad 3’s supposed J1 and J2 model numbers.

The leaked info reveals two different model numbers one for a Wi-Fi only iPad 3 and another with embedded GSM/CMDA/LTE connectivity for all carriers. The model number for the quad-core A6 processor in the leaked info is S5L8945X. The A4 processor is S5L8930X and the A5 is S5L8940X by comparison.

BGR’s source's claim the A6 iPad 3 is the fastest iOS device ever might win the award for least informative statement concerning leaked information ever. Expect more iPad 3 leaks soon.

I agree with you. I have been wanting an iPad for a while now and have been holding off until the new one comes out. I sure hope it comes out this month.

Awesome, typically what shows up in the iPad will show up in the iPhone to. I wonder how apple is dealing with heat, since the retina display and quad core processors radiate a lot of heat...

Having a non-jailbroken iPad is going to drive me insane. I may just have to go with an LTE plan until a jailbreak is out because I'm usually MyWi all the way with my Wi-Fi iPad 2.

Yes, I can see these are photos taken of a display. Sorry for being careless and calling these 'screenshots'.

A screenshot wouldn't give any clues to the resolution (dpi) of a display.

These things should dual boot with iOS and macOS. id be sold instantly. they are powerful enough at this point, apple should be able to design some support.

If this person "really" has that iPad3, then maybe he should provide it to the Magical Team for jailbreak! Looking at the time it took to jailbreak the 2, then if he gives it now, maybe we can have the jailbreak ready when the 3 is out!!! 😄😜

I dont think it will be quad core yet just probably 1.5ghz dual core as you can see ARM_S5L8945X is the code name for the A6 processor, then again the code for the A5 was ARM_S5L8940X and for the A4 processor wal ARM_S5L8930X
The A4 was single core and the last digits was 30, when the A5 came out , the last digits where 40.
At the A6 the last digits are 45X it chould be 1.5 dual core .
I`m not saying that im right, just my 2 cents of what apple might throw at us on the market feel free to correct me if im wrong
