Analyst States iPad 3 Is Headed Into Production
With the iPhone 4S being the big buzz of the week, the iPhone 4S rumors are now dead as the real product has been announced and released, now in the hands of consumers globally. The rumors of the next version are already heating up and the rumors of the next iteration of the iPad are going strong too. Jeff Fidacaro, an analyst from Susquehanna is claiming that sources in the supply chain are mentioning that the iPad 3 is headed into production.
Fidacaro is stating that supply chain checks suggest that production numbers for the iPad are ramping up for Q4. That is expected though as Apple is probably on route to gear up for a heavy holiday sales season as always. The production numbers are said to be climbing to 12 to 14 million units - up from 11 to 13 million. The analyst expects that Apple will ship about 13 million iPads in Q4. This is excellent news for Apple as it will probably result in more sales than before, bad news for those who would purchase Apple products and try to resell them for some extra quick cash.
The increase in production is claimed to be partly due to an early run of the iPad 3, which is expected to be released at some point in Q2 2012. Fidacaro told AllThingsD that he has been seeing 600,000 to 1 million iPad 3 builds in the current supply chain.
The iPad 2 was unveiled back in March 2011 so a refresh is expected to be released next March. Many people have already mentioned waiting out for the iPad 3 as it doesnít seem so far away to them. I personally donít know what to expect from Apple as they recently introduced the iPhone 4S several months after its expected release. It is quite possible that the release of the iPhone 4S being delayed to October may result in a delay for future Apple iOS device refreshes.
What do you think? Do you believe the iPad 3 is in the supply chain? Do you plan to buy an iPad 2 for yourself or a loved one this holiday season or are you planning on holding out for the next refresh? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!

I actually purchased iPad2 last week. but have been thinking of returning it. I upgraded it to iOS5 but there hasn't been a JB release for it, while all the other devices do so just thinking...by the time JB actually does come out on iPad2 maybe it would be better off to just wait for the iPad3. what u guys think?

The iOS5 JB will most likely be out- between Halloween and Christmas. (my guess)
Its up to you.
But if you wait, you'll probably be waiting longer as the iPad 3 JB will be more difficult (and take longer) than this one....

If you wait for the next latest and greatest iDevice, you'll always be waiting. The next one is always right around the corner. My opinion

Does anyone else have a love/hate relationship towards apple? I love their products but I hate how much power and revenue they're generating

I personally think that the delay in the iPhone 4S is due in part by Apple trying to match production to "upgrade eligibility" I'd almost bet that we will see a 5 and then a 5S and so on and so forth. Look forward to iPhone refreshes being on an 18 month refresh schedule...

Ture that, on the fact that even if ipad3 comes out it's gonna take a long time to JB.
I guess it'll be worth it to have ipad2 till then and make an upgrade to iPad3 if I really want to.
probably would loose 2~300bucks but if I think about it, it would be worth it.
Anyways, thanks for the words
They truly understand the power of brand, really understands the marketing business.
They knew that they wouldn't get as much of a positive response of iphone4S when they did the conference,
but they knew that they would still make waaay more money by making iphone4S because people will buy it (and upgrade)
bottom line, Apple really know what their doing.
We're pretty much screwed, but love apple at the same time.

I hope the new iPad can scan and print money so I can pay back my credit card when I rush to the shelves to pick one up.
