Add nfc tech to iPhones and things get even easier than this. To top it off, there is almost no added investment by retailers.

Well, this accomplishes a few things:
- Using credit cards will be encouraged more, as you will have a shorter wait, since they can't very well carry around change with them too easily.
- It will mean the virtual death of lines when checking out (at least with a credit card), since the person you are already talking to can also ring up your purchases at the same time.
- This will also encourage people to bring reusable bags more, since again, carrying around a ton of bags will not be convienent
[*}Square's processing fees are usually much lower than anyone else, so it's makes it cheaper for the merchant as well.
All in all, I think this can be a good thing, if done correctly.

I can accept cash with my iphone.
I use Minibooks which also runs on my PC as Freshbooks.
I generate the invoice right on my iphone and can send the invoice as paid or unpaid
to the customer's email. Also, there is a secured email link to the invoice for the customer.
They can dispute the invoice too.
I also have PayPal on my iphone to send or receive money to my bank account.
And I have Square for credit cards.
