Apple on Track to Ship 14 Million iPads in Q3 of 2011

The all-knowing sources from the far east are reporting that Apple is on track to see a massive shipment of iPads in the next quarter of 2011. Overseas suppliers project somewhere between 12 and 14 million units will be shipped during the quarter.
"In order to significantly increase its shipments in the third quarter," DigiTimes reports, "Apple has been piling up its inventory of iPad 2 components such as panels in the second quarter to minimize the risk of facing component shortages."
DigiTimes cites knowledgeable but otherwise anonymous "market watchers" for the foundation of the report, which estimates the mega-shipments to come in Q3. Still, there is no indication - at least not at this time - that expedited component purchases have anything to do with the iPad 3. Apple is simply looking to reduce any possible holiday product shortages as we enter into the final six months of 2011 - a period in which iPad 2 demand is predicted to remain remarkably powerful.
In addition to prospective buyers having adequate access to product supplies, the biggest winners in Apple's product production push are component suppliers like LG Display, Catcher Technology, TPK Holdings and Radiant Opto-Electronics Corporation. "All expected to benefit from the increased orders," the report concluded.
