Skype for iPad Coming Soon? Possible Promo Video Leaked

According to the uploader, RazorianFly, the video above was found on Skype's website this morning, before it was abruptly removed, so the story goes. The video, if it turns out to be legitimate, indicates that Skype may finally be releasing a version of it's hit video-chat software for Apple's tablet.

We don't have much more information, although we are hopeful that this video turns out to be real. The animations look very nice, and adding functionality for the iPad 2's front-facing camera seems ideal. If the experience is anything like Skype for the iPhone 4, then I would be a huge fan. It's a fantastic alternative to FaceTime, with a larger user base, and it's currently available to use over 3G.

Hopefully we'll see this come to fruition very soon, if not with this UI, than hopefully with another and all of the functionality mentioned in the promo video. I personally love how it looks in the video, but of course we'll have to wait and see what the final product looks like.

Update: TUAW is reporting that Skype has confirmed this video as legit! Looks like we'll be seeing this soon.
