iFacePad: Enable FaceTime on Your iPad
Earlier this month Paul had covered a story about a hacker who manually enabled FaceTime on the iPad. The process required some manual installation which wasn't quite easy for the inexperienced. However, a developer by the name of Intell has created an app that does the work for you. iFacePad is an Mac OS X app which will allow you to enable FaceTime on your iPad just like the iPod Touch 4G. The app can be downloaded here.
You will be required to have the iPod Touch 4G IPSW Firmware on hand, (download here), and preferably access to a Mac (iFacePad is a Mac OS X App).
For this particular setup, you will also need to download PhoneDisk here.
Ensure that you have installed OpenSSH and AFC2 from Cydia before getting started. If you used greenpois0n to jailbreak, AFC2 should already be installed.
Launch PhoneDisk and connect to your iPad. Remember to make sure root is enabled and you are in the root directory. At this point, launch the iFacePad.app file. After launching the app a dialog box will appear saying "All Done" and request that you reboot the iPad.
From here you should now have a FaceTime app on your springboard, just like the iPod Touch 4G.
Hopefully we will see an app available on Cydia shortly that does the same thing, without the need to use a Mac/PC.
iPod Touch 4G Firmware (4.2.1)

ok. nice. i see no flaws.... except... wait a sec... iPad. doesn't. have. a. CAMERA!
inb4 "n00b u can do it liek hav da video on ur skreen but da persun u talkin too kant see u"
or you can do facetime on your laptop that actually has a webcam, or on your iphone, or on your ipod touch.
in the first thread from Feb 7th, some guy says "so what if the other person can't see you, my granny would love to see her grand kids full screen and her computer sucks too much for skype"
so your grandma is going to jailbreak her ipad? that will go well

Without a front facing camera on the iPad I don't see how this is useful.8 gig iPhone Edge 2G (first day iPhone): UNLKD/JB using bootneuter and blackra1n.
8 gig iPhone 3G (first day iPhone): UNLKD/JB using Whited00r CFW
16 gig iPhone 3GS (new bootrom): UNLKD/JB using ultrasn0w/limera1n.
16 gig Wifi iPad first day iPad JB using greenpois0n.
32 gig Wifi/3G iPad first day iPad UNLKD/JB using greenpois0n.
32 gig iPhone 4(first day iPhone): UNLKD/JB using ultrasn0w/greenpois0n
Apps: 157 installed 25 developed.

I believe this hack falls under the category of "because I can"... Beside, some clever dev could probably rig it where you cold plug an external camera into the dock and there you go.
Geez, this forum has become crowded with more and more "modders" going "why" rather than "why not?".Herp a derp a derp a doooo!

Q. How do you do facetime on a device with NO Camera?

I think it's good if you want to talk to your wife and she's ugly!

If you can a attach a webcam, this tweak could make the iPad a little less obsolete when the iPad 2 comes out
