The Daily for iPad Arrives... Finally

"New times demand new journalism," News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch told members of the media gathered in New York City Wednesday morning. Following months of repeated delays, not even blizzard-like conditions across New York would deter today's big launch of The Daily for Apple's iPad.
"The challenge was to take the best of traditional journalism and combine it with the best of contemporary technology. The iPad demands that we completely re-imagine our craft," Murdoch added. Working with News Corp. along the way, naturally, was Apple. iTunes will be the vessel through which every issue will be delivered to its paying readers. As expected, the paid-subscription of The Daily will run you $0.99 per week.
The Daily delivers what News Corp. calls a unique mix of text, photography, audio, video, information graphics, touch interactivity and real-time data and social feeds. Each day The Daily will publish up to 100 pages focused on six key areas: news, sports, gossip and celebrity, opinion, arts and life, and apps and games. In a release that accompanied Wednesday's launch, Apple chief Steve Jobs praised the new digital publication. “News Corp. is redefining the news experience with The Daily,” Jobs said. “We think it is terrific and iPad users are really going to embrace it.”
“In short," Murdoch concluded, “we believe The Daily will be the model for how stories are told and consumed in this digital age.” Ultimately, however, that's a determination for iPad owners to make. For News. Corp and Apple, the test for their "baby" has officially begin.

I will subscribe as long as the "news" portion doesn't follow the typical Fox News slanted propaganda. If so I won't support it.

Propaganda or not, I could care less. If this takes off and is successful, it paves the way for other publications to try to adopt something similar.
If this turns the iPad periodical experience into something better than the pay-cover-price-for-magazine-scans experience that we've got now, it's a good thing.Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. -- M.C. Escher

I personally think the app is laid out pretty good. I like the idea of the developers integrating everything like audio and visuals into this app. If it updates everyday and gets better I may *think* about getting a year sub. I definitely recommend downloading and trying it out.

Oh please, because MSNBC isn't "slanted propoganda"? If we wanted a network that did nothing but praise something even when it's wrong I would watch that. Im expecting to see an infraction for "disagreeing" with a moderator. I am free to express my opinion as are you, but when you use names you are inviting retorts.
Have a good day.

As long as debate is kept clean then it is all good.
