Boxee Coming Soon to iPad
Boxee has just announced that it will be releasing a free iPad app by the end of the first quarter of this year. The Boxee app will allow you to stream video directly to your iPad from a variety of sources including your own computer. Boxee is best known for its Mac and PC software that brings video content from all over the internet and delivers it to you in one convenient package.
CEO and co-founder, Avner Ronen writes on the companyís blog, ďWe have been working the past few months on Boxee for iPad, and while it is not ready to launch we are giving people at the CES Show a sneak peek of the App. It enables you to access videos from your Watch Later list as well as from your Feed (stuff shared from Facebook / Twitter), and staying true to Boxee roots also enables you to stream videos directly to the iPad from your PC/Mac (without requiring you to sync).Ē
Boxee has also signed an agreement with CBS allowing users to buy full TV show episodes starting later this year. Shows like the New Hawaii Five-O will be available right away, as well as old favorites like MacGyver. By selling TV shows, Boxee and CBS hope to create new sources of revenue for both of the companies.
The VUDU service is also coming soon to a Boxee near you. If you have one of those nifty new 3D TVís, youíll be able to stream 3D movies directly to your TV starting later this year.
With much of the focus of this yearís CES on Tablet computers, Apple is clearly leading the way with the iPad. Boxee is great on the Mac and itís sure to be a hit when it arrives on the iPad in a few months. With so many developers working hard to bring us more video content on the iPad, Hollywood had better start producing more shows for us to watch. A few more seasons of Futurama would be great, especially on the iPad.

Sounds good. I like all these media apps on the iPad. Who needs cable? You don't like the iPad because you don't have one!

I have boxer for atv and that's all I use. I had dish but since boxee/navi x I have no need for a 120 dish bill. Instead I have a 60 bill that covers my atv, xbox live and laptop needs.
