Default Is iOS 4.3 Just Weeks Away?

With iOS 4.2 only a few days old, speculation has already turned to iOS 4.3: specifically, the possibility that we'll see upgraded firmware as soon as mid-December. MacStories is reporting that 4.3 will drop in a few weeks, with bug fixes and an API for app subscriptions to support the new "iPad newspaper" called The Daily.

As we know, iOS 4.2 took longer than Apple had expected: when the WiFi bug in the 4.2 golden master was found, they had to go back to the lab to roll out the 4.2.1 version that was released on Monday. According to MacStories, 4.2 was supposed to be out in the early part of November, preparing the way for 4.3 on all devices that would be able to support billing for apps that you subscribe to, rather than pay for once and download.

As Michael reported on Tuesday, Apple is planning a media event on December 9th that most observers expect will be the rollout for the Daily app. Apple and the News Corporation have been reported to be working for months in secret on the new app, which will be a video-rich news publication. The Daily has been described as "the world's first 'newspaper' designed exclusively for the iPad." Subscribers will pay 99 per week for updated news that will be downloaded in the background.

MacStories also speculated that iOS 4.3 would include some bug fixes and other maintenance code, possibly including improved support for AirPlay with third-party apps.

wonder if these updates popping out so close together is to keep the devs from wanting to jb and unlock due to the high frequency of changes. this isnt really like apple to have to do so many updates close together.

    Apple's new software development process:
Release buggy and unstable software to the public and let them find the bugs, then we'll patch it in a few weeks.

This is BS apple need to get there SH1T straight we pay alot of money for this fone and other apple products. N on top of that they don't want us to jb. If they would test the fireware n have an open setting system we would have this problem.

All of these things are ridiculous. Im going to stay on my 4.0.2 until iOS 5 comes out. Lol

^^^ i agree. your best bet would be to just stick with your current firmware instead of upgrading to something thats practically guaranteed to be buggy.

I haven't even updated my phone yet and they are already talking about a new iOS version?.. WTF!! I am no upgrading, my phone works fine and has no bugs and does what I need (jailbroken) so why update to something broken that will be patched in 3 weeks? if it wasn't because iPhone retains its value, I would so be on Samsung Captivate (Android) it so much better, faster, etc

There is no developer beta of 4.3 yet.. or any developer beta for that matter on the iOS Dev Center as of right now

I don't think a iPad magazine is worthy of 4.3, just put it in the app store like iBooks
i think this would be the first x.3 in iOS history

So now that Apple is as big as Microsoft. They are acting the same way microsoft used to act with their OS in the past, excluding win7 ofcourse
So i guess the godly Apple is not so different than any other company. When you get too big, your QA goes to sh%& and you throw out whatever half ***** product you have,, take Iphone4 with all its issues as an example and now the buggy and annoying IOS updates.
    sad for Apple..

I honestly don't see any reason for an iPhone 4 user to upgrade unless u need Air Play. People just hear "upgrade" then "yell give me jb and unlock." that's stupid unfair to developers. Stay on ur current firmware until it's safe to upgrade.

I'm enjoying the hell out of my Jb 4.1
