Dashboard for iPad - Another AppStore Reject Finds a Home
Rich Hong made a pretty sweet Dashboard implementation for the iPad.
Except Apple rejected him from the AppStore. You know, for "contradicting the iPad’s user experience." Well, that's a new excuse, right? So what to do now?
Ah, right - the iPad is jailbroken. Rich sent us Dashboard this afternoon, and it's live on the ModMyi.com Cydia repo now - iPad only.
It's pretty close to Dashboard for Mac, although it IS it's own app - so you need to tap an icon to launch it. Ok, no problem. There's even an option to "add more widgets" which opens Apple's widgets section, and Rich has figured a nifty way to install those into Dashboard for iPad when you click the download link. Of course, they don't all work on the iPad, so you're on your own there.
And it's free.

Well..
Jailbroken can have it,
IMHO Widget based UI's look dated and cluttered.(and clunky) Doesn't mean others have no need for this or won't like it, just for my taste I am more then happy with the streamlined iPad UI. And boy does it look ugly

Just install Activator, set Dashboard to open with a double press of the home button when at the home screen (Or any other activation type) and viola, almost feels like a part of the iPhone OS

Tried installing weatherbug widget, which didn't work. It left an X (with circle around it) in the middle of the screen that I can't tap to close the widget (widget never appeared, just the X). Tried reinstalling and uninstalling/reinstalling dashboard, but the X remains. Also now I can't rearrange the widgets that I am able to load. Any ideas???

PAKIS-RULEZ... are u serious?!?!? Umm last time I checked dashboard was a feature of os x...they probably have a better implementation up their sleeves for 4.0 and yeah makes sense that this is contradictory to the iPad UI... it's dated and designed for a point and click interface...not to be a douche but where are you getting your information? Apple isn't ripping anything off from anybody, nor is ms or Linux. Widgets have been around for ever, especially since the early days of apple. It's like GM ripping off the wheel from the cave man geesh...get your facts straight!

How the HELL can this be "duplicating functionality" when said functionality doesn't exist in the first place?
Whoever rejected this hasn't got their head screwed on straight.

Now the only thing that we need is Adobe to come to JB Userlands! Give us the Flash and show Apple the FINGER!

Weird... mine goes through the install, but nada. And it's not listed under my Cydia packages.
