Mod AT&T SIM to Work in iPad 3G
Hey guys,
So I have found a simple way to mod your At&t Sim card to fit into the iPad 3G and work on the 3G network without activating a new data plan.
Simply use an exacto knife to trace out the mini-sim on your iPhone SIM...
Once the SIM is in the iPad you need to enter Settings->Cellular Data->APN Settings
Change the APN to "phone" without quotations.
Another way is to enter Carrier testing mode in iTunes and enter a custom ipcc file. I personally used Stealth's ATT_US_STEALTH.ipcc, worked like a charm!
It has been confirmed that this mod Is working for Rogers in Canada and also T-Mobile here in the US which is great news.Last edited by Melech518; 05-01-2010 at 06:37 AM.

Not at all. If you cut it out carefully you can puzzle it back in PERFECTLY. I have been swapping back and forth flawlessly

Very very cool

Should come in hady if the new iPhone goes micro-sim. You will be able to keep old sim, modify, and switch to an older iPhone as a back up to a new one as well.

Those pics look like they are from 2 different cards because the markings dont match up right . Anyway , this looks like it would be a good reason to sell off my 2 iphones and get the ipad now .

So if I have a data package for my iPhone 3GS and i do the DIY trick to make it a microSIM I still need to sign up for ANOTHER data plan? It doesn't just share it?

Add key telephony = true
drag and drop phone app from 3GS into your iPad's application folder and set the permissions to 777.
Enjoy phone calls on your iPad
