Guess I should put my future iPad in a generic bag before I come out of the store.
But, yeah, that really sucks.
I hope this doesn't start a trend of iPad thefts.

Same thought crossed my mind though, I'm wondering how it would hold in court if you blasted this low life and claimed self defense after he ripped half your finger off while stealing at least $500 worth of stuff from you. It doesn't look like Colorado has a castle doctrine in place.

The stupidity of people these days never ceases to amaze me, I mean if your going to rob someone at least cover your face and I’m pretty sure it’s common sense not to rob someone in broad daylight.
I hope he gets the punishment he deserves. Doesn’t really matter what race the person is it just reinforces the fact that there are thieve about and people need to be more aware.

I doubt a person of his "caliber" will be using it. I'm
sure he already has cash for
his next crack rock.

nice to see they have video of the guy. that means he will be caught, he will be prosecuted, and then he will be raped in jail.

After Hearing about those stories, it occurred to me, that severe punishment as at Middle Ages should be reactivated.

it's so hard to believe, yet possible, that he didn't get caught in daylight, though here lots of iphones have been stolen and people jumped by the busiest road, and bus stop in daylight so guess it happens... so sad really =/ it makes me worried to take my ipad anywhere hah

The 'breakaway' bag is a good idea. Bringing people with you is another good idea (I always wanted a 'posse'). Another one I just had is to give complementary dye-packs with the purchase. The 'safety' for the dye-pack is pulled when someone grabs the bag: no trouble finding the suspect after that.
Something I learned from this story: let FedEx or UPS take the risk -- shopping online may save your pinky!

hopefully the robber doesn't sell it. Apple can provide the device information and I am sure it can be tracked once activated.Really?
