Im not saying Im not excited about the jailbreak because I most cerainly am... but to say it has no usefullness in an unjailbroken state is a false statement. This thing rocks!

Yeah, it's funny. People without ipads have more problems that the people with ipads.

I don't understand... if they didn't want to jailbreak 3.1.3 because they didn't want to waste their time because 4.0 is coming out soon... why would they "waste" their time on 3.2? 4.0 will be here for both ipad and iphone/ipod... they could have jailbroken 3.1.3 and saved alot of people some headache's...

do we really need a jailbreak for ipads at this juncture? it appears apple, as much as i hate to say it, has done a great job with iPhone os 4. i watched the video, now in iTunes, with steve jobs demonstrating to new os using what he has dubbed as "tent poles.". the new os availabe in June for new iPhones, including the 3gs released last fall, and current ipad users in fall 2010. there are 1500 API's released in the new os. develovers are just now scratching the surface on what the new os will do. i have a feeling the new iPhone os 4 will be all encompassing. the ipad is missing messages (texting) and the ability to tether via bluetooth or usb. a good reason to jailbreak, but i will wait to see as i have wifi at home and work those two features will probably be available on the 3 gs ipad. having said all of that, jailbreaking may be something that goes the way of the dinosaur as apple adopts the jailbreakers ideas reverse engineered and packaged as their own. just sayin'

Awesome job by GeoHot. Now if I only could justify the price of an iPad............I want one, just gotta drop the price a bit first.

I got the wifi 16GB iPad for $499(which can be easily tethered to an Jailbroken iPhone)... not bad at all!
think about it when looking at the price of the iPhones...
8GB 3G iPhone $499
16GB 3GS iPhone $599
32GB 3GS iPhone $699
The iPad has a larger more crisp display and is at least 2X as fast as the 3GS and the apps on it are far and beyon what the iPhone has to offer.
I personally think the iPad is quite the bargain for what your getting and dont see it getting any cheaper in the near future.

in fact, i streamed a whole movie from my desktop running AirVideo Server to my iPad in another part of the city. flawless victory.
(though MyWi is murder on the iPhone battery life)
those that have smart phones NOT named iPhone are in the best position, as many of those phones support wifi hotspot creation by default.
