Previewers Love Their iPads

I'm still haven't made up my mind on the iPad. Just like the first gen iPhone, I wanna play with it before dropping that kind of money on it. Anyone know if they'll have them on display at best buys on Saturday?

Btw @the people raving about netflix, what do you like about it? there steaming library is just horrible and it's 15 bucks a month when you have iPhone exclusive streaming sites...

some of the content is good. Boondock Saints was on there...there are some cool standup stuff... a lot of classic stuff... Saw all the Ninja Turtle movies on there with my little boys and the Superman ones too... I think you can even stream shows, like the office and stuff... I like it.

Some of the current Apps look amazing and different and as time goes by we'll see developers getting more creative with the interface. I was disappointed at the unveiling, but now realize that what will make this device amazing is the great Apps that will come out tailored to it.

100% agree with you... You have your "apple fans" who are quick to go to bat for APPLE as to why this is a must have.. You hit the nail on the head and thats bc ppl will shell out money just to say they have one..... ppl will go to extreme measures...

I just laugh at all the ppl who paid tons of money for a basic computing system... On the home page of this site, you see the youtube video of the person unpacking the ipad.. you're looking at over $1000+ (if he bought wifi and 3G)

If you got the money to spend then why not. Why do people pay for a porsche when a audi can do the job. Or you could keep moving down the bar; why pay for a audi when a vw can do it; why pay for a vw when a bicyle can do it. Why have an iPhone when a cheap free phone can do the job.

If someone has the money the go for it. It is not fully about "Apple fanboys" all the time. I see this as a great living room device. It happens to be the first out the door in the slate area. JooJoo arrived today but that is 500$ too but has limited use. If the "courier" device actually came out people may flock to that. It is not fully Apple like I said but more of limited slate devices that are actually here now.


Nobody cared for laptops as much because they were not practical back in the day unitl Apple busted the scene.

I think it's funny and a little sad how people complain how other people spend their money. All points to jealousy to me. Because unless the iPad cost you that big promotion and ran off with your wife, I can see no other reason why you troll around and attempt to piss on something we all are excited about and came here to discuss...*

FYI, you missed the point. People are complaining that the iPad is an oversized iPod touch. If the touch gets you already from point A to point B, what is the point of getting an iPad that does the same thing? Now the car analogy was introduced saying a ford focus can get you to point A to point B, so why buy a Porsche? Simple answer, because although it's true that both with get you there, but one will be more pleasurable to drive than the other... As is the iPad.

The one life to live story was basically saying to not complain how other people spend their own money, that what is money good for if we don't get to waste it on unnessesary toys and gadgets? All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I get no sexual themes from that message... Not sure how you do.
Point of both messages, worry about how you spend your own money and don't complain how others spend theirs.

Have you considered, for a moment in your constant, non-stop whining, that perhaps, just perhaps, some of us are fortunate enough to be living lifestyles where, frankly, $499 isn't really a ton of money?

The list of things I've dropped more money on over just a matter of a couple of hours (gambling, strippers, concert tickets, etc. etc. etc.) is really quite lengthy. Not to mention the 10's of thousands of put into lesser computing products over the years. Christ, it's the same price as my first iphone, less than my first "smart phone" and like 1/4 the price of my first computer.

So for me, and I'd imagine many others, saw some previews, liked what I saw, wanted one, and the price point isn't exactly breaking the bank for me, so I bought one.

That this is a problem for you, and your need to waste so much time whining about it is what's difficult to comprehend.

i cant wait to get it on saturday,and for all you haters i have one advice for you people.you only have one life to live so if you work hard and your bills are paid for the month of march and you like this device go out and get it.tomorrow is not promised to you or me,or to anyone in this site. i have been on this planet for over 43 year and i have yet to see anyone take their money with them when they die,so my advice to you all is life is short and saving all your money wont do you any good. at the end you will leave it here for someone else that did not work hard for it to spend it for you.take it from me i know, recently my aunt pass and left some insurance money for her daughter. well this girl is been spending money like there's no tomorrow well that could be anyone of us here hahahahahaa, so enjoy life and stop crying about other people's money and how they spend it.

Try selling CRAZY somehwere else....we're all stocked up here.

for the people who own iphones and ipod touch's kno that the screen is small and the iPad has more screen luxury, is faster then any iphone or ipod touch...so clearly, for the people that is doesnt suite their lives and have negativity towards it, should only share it with themselves and leave the people that will actually enjoy their device alone from such negativity.....

right now there are rumors of the iPad getting netflix which i kno people would really want! and that alone on that device will kill! all...

Yes screen is bigger than iPhone, but it does not make calls. It is bigger than iPhone/iTouch so it does not fit in your pocket, got to put it in some kind of a pouch you probably have to purchase separately. Yes it is faster than iPhone but if I want faster and a more versatile device I would go to my netbook/computer/notebook. If I want Netflix I would just stream it on many blueray players/Tivo that already does this on a large screen where you really want to watch it, not a small device like this thing. Even if I want netflix on portable device I can already do it on my netbook/notebook.
So again what is your point on how versatile this thing is?


BTW Apple can not take criticism and only give preview iPad to its devoute followers, no wonder they are getting good reviews. Wait until it gets released hope people really start taking apart this thing, expose its weak points like a real review should be.
