iPad Diamond Now Available for Pre-order ($19,999)

In the past, we've seen all sorts of ornate, lavish iPhone/iPod cases, docks, and other stowing accessories. From gold covered cases to diamond encrusted frames, the accessory business for Apple's mobile devices has seen its share of over-the-top products, most of which the masses could never casually afford.

What's been made available for the iPhone, iPod has now been introduced to the iPad. This week, potential iPad buyers have an opportunity to add some bling to Apple's soon-to-be released tablet. The iPad Diamond, which is covered in 11.43 carats of diamonds, is now available for pre-order. The case, produced by manufacturer and diamond specialist Mervis, is going for a cool $19,999.

If you really want one, the time to act is now... Mervis says limited supplies are available. Of course, to a logical person, it would seem that "limited supplies" will be more than adequate, as the likely demand for a diamond encrusted iPad frame will probably not immediately deplete the advertised inventory. Nonetheless, if you order your iPad Diamond now, it will be available by June 1.

If the initial sales numbers are correct, nearly 200,000 iPads may have already been pre-ordered by now. If every customer supplemented their purchase with an iPad Diamond, Mervis may very well have their best fiscal year in a while.
