He is talking about tethering his iphone to his ipad.
I am kind of thinking about getting the ipad 3g and installing mywi on it and canceling my cable internet. The speeds are pretty good at my house and it would save me $15 a month. My toys:
IPhone 4 16gb

Yea I'll stick with mywi as well, verizon is just desperate and pathetic. Its pretty obvious that the verizon high ups masturbate to the iPhone every night.

Only downside is using up your phones battery but it's better than paying $30 a month

The 3G version of the iPad will be locked to AT&T's network, which doesn't even compare to the 3G coverage that Verizon has. iPad 3G owners would have to pay $30/mo for a data plan that can only be used on the iPad.
I would recommend getting a Verizon MiFi, which will provide better 3G coverage, on a more reliable 3G network. Not to mention you can connect up to 5 devices at a time to the MiFi.
3Gstore just announced a No Contract MiFi Option for iPad for only $49.95/mo

Wait until you start streaming video and see how fast you eat up some gigs! It's fine for hooking up your phone since I don't watch a lot of vid on it. But this iPad was built for viewing vid! I have to go with the $30 unlimited plan from AT&T. Verizon and Sprint gotta go unlimited and bring their price down.

And yeah...great thinking. Since you can connect 5 devices it is TOTALLY worth it. I'll stick to a much more reliable broadband connection at home, and for traveling, how could you ever need more than one device at a time??

http://3gstore.com/lease Here is the kicker 3gstore.com offered me the data service with no contract no credit checks, and on the Verizon Wireless Network for $49.99 that is lower than buying from Verizon itself, It's one of the lowest price out in the market and now I am able to connect, Oh yeah....

I agree, WIFI with MYWI. The article suggest that you can't use a 3G IPAD with WIFI, which is not correct.
But even with that being said, I'm thinking of jailbreaking it and selling my IPAD for a profit and then picking up the 3G version, just to have it there in case I ever needed.
Phone falls into toilet, phone breaks, phone gets stolen, phone gets lost, etc.
A backup with 3G would be nice. We'll see. I am kind of lazy to go through the trouble of selling it.
