iPhone SDK 3.2 beta Released for Devs

Im struggling to get my head around an iPhone OS thats not compatible with the iPhone

No one said it wasn't compatible. 3.2 will be with differences between the iPhone/iPod/iPad devices.

Yeah, but I dont want some of the functions of iPad..all I want for the 3GS is multitasking... something that other smartphones have been doing for a while now... the only major company lagging behind is Apple.

Yeah, theres a jailbreak and yea theres MultiFl0w.. but It would be great to have apple implement it on their OS... and why no iphone 4.0 SDK? who gives a **** about the ipad? I was following the live blogs for this pointless event for the iphone SDK for IPHONE..

Also, I dont want iOS 3.2 on iphone.. we need a major UI change and other functions that smartphones should have..

where have you been. everyone here has been enjoying backgrounder and kirikae type apps for years and you are still complaining?

i'm quickly losing faith in apple. the android phones keep getting better, and they are realeased and improved so quickly, that the bar is constantly being pushed upwards. i'm guessing that this fall there won't be much reason to stick with iphone. nexus one is just the beginning...

Have you ever stopped to actually think about the consequences of Apple porting all of the apps and tweaks from the jailbreak community?

For Apple to incorporate all of these things, it requires more work, more employees, longer development time. The consequence for us, HIGHER PRICES ! It cost money to add these things. You have to pay someone else to do the work. Maybe Apple is thinking, there is no need to add these features, the jailbreak community is so strong we know they will have these tweaks available.

Apples policy has really been Less is More, Keeping it Simple.

Then why do the change the iBoot so you can't jailbreak the 3Gs on newer models(Without being tethered)???

I think that the iPad will mostly affect the iPhone/Touch community in a positive way by shedding more light on the line of devices and bringing more people in.

I also think it is a really cool concept item - nothing more.

Like it has been said before - if you want a high powered, portable, cost effective computer, go with a netbook.

I will make a guess as of now, that what we have been shown at the keynote today is a taste, merely a glimpse of a building with bare walls. But, I believe it all to be a game of smoke and mirrors.

What Apple has planned is greater than what they have shown, and why is that? We have seen no new OS, no slick tricks. Why not? Where is OS 4.0? They cant give everything away now. Not before the next iPhone is released. Not before OS 4.0 is announced. If so, what would there be left to show?

They know they are 60-90 days out from release. That kind of lead times gives competitors a LOT of time to catch up, and thats what you will see happen. Instead, show people something, underwhelm them, then after everyone thinks they have it figured out, change the game again.

Steve is disciplined, as is Apple. Repeated failures of flash on news articles during the presentation....for christ sakes, zoomed in on failures. Its foreshadowing, and you all are slightly ignorant for not seeing through it.

Flash is a bastard. Its resource hungry, memory hungry. Apple will let it out, but not before OS 4.0.
