How to reset a ipad 2 wifi..OR BYPASS THE SECURITY CODE????

Hi there, bought used ipad 2 wifi at a garage sale,,not thinking bout the passwords. Now i have it here and its locked at the start screen asking me for a password..im a lil computer literate but dont wanna mess the pad either..is there a hard reset or a way to jailbreak it without knowing what firmware its running?

Welcome to MMi.
Is it is password locked and you can't get the password from the seller, you'll have to restore it in iTunes.

Thanks for the reply, so i just plug it in and it should do it all for me then?
is it better to jailbreak it, in your personal opinion? i dont really know much about ipads....

Yup, just plug it in to your computer, open iTunes and click restore. You can stay on iOS 5.1.1 as Apple is still signing that firmware and still be able to jailbreak it if you want. For me, it has to be jailbroken. It's all about customizing and making my own for me plus all the tweaks in Cydia.
If you need more help, just post up.
You may want to download the 5.1.1 firmware first, then hold the shift key and click restore, point to the 5.1.1. ipsw you downloaded.
Link to firmware. Make sure you choose the correct firmware for your device.

What if yours is disabled? Cannot use redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2, snowbreeze won't recognize ipsw (5.1.1), Apple server is down?
