Lightbulb Not Sure - Lucky Or Not - New Ipad
Hello to all, I was hoping someone can give me advice cause I have been reading but want to make sure doing the right thing...Lol

First, I just got my ipad2 in the mail today and plugged it in to my puter that has itunes 9 that i used to JB my 3G iphone. It would not see my Ipad2 so I upgraded itunes and all is well.

I did not take any updates to my Ipad...just to boot it up. Next I checked in settings and I have V4.3.3, mod 4.10.01 ...Good?

Can I just do the jailbreak and what would I use to do it? I was reading that this would be the best way because Cyndia will ask to make my life easier when first opened...is this the way to go if my Ipad2 has 4.3.3 on it? Or do I or can I use Tiny Umbrella to save Blobs instead?

    Thanks for any help

I don't know what the baseband for an ipad 2 3G is but I'm like 99% sure it can't be 04.10.01. If its 4.3.3 use JailbreakMe 3.0

Thanks the Jailbreakme 3 worked 100% fast...like 2 sec it was done. I'm a happy camper now so will get some sleep and thanks for this great site and all the hard workers that make this all possible.

Yes it does say modem 4.10.01 and version 4.3.3 (8J2)

I did a back up with iTunes before the jailbreak but is there anything I need to do to save Blobs ??

Cydia says SHSH 4.3.5, what should this tell me? Does it mean I could upgrade to 4.3.5 with jailbreak. Just trying to understand here.

    Thanks for your help

You can only save SHSHs for the firmware that Apple is still signing. Since Apple is not signing 4.3.3 anymore you would have to use iFaith to dump the SHSH for that firmware.

Ifaith will not work with iPad 2 as there isn't any bootrom exploit sorry Cero I didn't want his iPad to get stucked.

Ahhh thank you very much for that. Did not know that. Don't have iPad 2 and never personally used iFaith.

Just don't screw up your iPad. If you restore you will be stuck on iOS 4.3.5 and unable to JB. Make sure you install sbsettings so you can get into safemode if needed. Don't install color keyboard or older versions of Celeste.

Backup up your IOS system image onto your compter will help yo to restore back when you are stucked.

Man, some people have all the luck! I was lucky enough to win a 64GB iPad 2 WiFi+3G and everytime I've tried to swap it I get 4.3.5!

This person gets 4.3.3 on the first go, doesn't seem fair somehow, LOL!

You are lucky by winning the ipad, a huge saving for you. Having double luck in a short period doesn't always happen....Lol

Yes you're right, is was a lucky break ti have gotten one for nothing.

I still wish it wasn't so crippled. I've come to rely on so many of the tweaks I use from Cydia on my iPhone.

Don't worry be happy , according to the dev team, there are five new userland exploits that can jailbreak ipad 2 if these exploits are not leaked out, then you will be in no time to have a jailbroken ipad 2 again...cheers.

I hope these jailbreaks also include the 3G version of the iPad 2.

Well, the jailbreaks for iOS 5 keep coming, but none of them have included iPad 2 3G. It's starting to get frustrating, not being able to take full advantage of my iPad 2 without the JB.

It is likely because the Jailbreaks use the same exploit. The Dev Team would not keep wasting exploits over ans over on beta firmwares.
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix
