    Ok, just so I'm clear

Do I @ any point in time release the home button after the count down on the pois0n goes off?

Or do I release it them hold it down once I click on JB?

UpDATE..........i just held the home button the entire time till the code/info shows up on the screen, but all it does is reboot/start-up.......sooooo heated right now, i've done this a # of time before!

Well, worst case scenario: you can still run RedSn0w until a new beta of GreenPois0n drops; the current version is RC5 Beta2. So to be clear, you aren't putting your device into DFU mode before opening the program, are you? That is what I noticed made it not run, for me. Also, what OS are you running? If you are on vista/7 then be sure to run in compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 with Admin privileges. (This is what worked for me, I don't know if it is overkill, I just know that it worked.)
    My steps were as follows:
    • While iPad is plugged into computer, power it off.
    • Open GreenPois0n. (be sure to unzip it to somewhere like your desktop first, and do what I said above to it too.)
    • Follow the onscreen instructions, and hold the home button until the text appears.
    • Let it work it's magic. It did take a minute or two, so give it some time.
    • ???
    • Profit
    • Note: The last two steps are South Park references, I'm super serial!

Is that what you did? Did you update or restore to 4.2.1? What do you mean that all it does is reboot/startup? As long as it boots up and Cydia is there, that is the goal. I just want to be sure we are on the same page here, I'm not calling you a n00b or anything of the like. (I'm serial)

Have you tried not having your iPad in DFU mode when you open the app? It says to have the device off, not in DFU. You then follow its' steps to get in DFU mode. I bet that has something to do with why it won't work. You don't need to run it in 98 compatibility mode.
