Thread: iPad stuck in recovery mode.

You realize that you don't need to but a UUID activation, you can just downgrade your ipad to 3.x and then shift-update, select 4.3 firmware, and it does it? Just did it to 3 of my friends, saw this thread, and thought I'd enlighten you.

correct, your right, any luck? tinyumbrella is just not doing anything. i did start tss server, tried to restore = waste of time. do you know of anything? my other question is when 4.3 comes out am i saved?

Yes when 4.3 comes out you will be fine. In the meantime if you have 3.2.2 SHSH restore to that. If not head over to the B/S/T and see if someone can add you to their dev account so that 4.3b3 will work for you.

Did anyone see my post, or what? If you can downgrade to 3.x, you can update it to 4.3 and keep activation withou jail breaking, nor having to register your uuid! Use tiny umbrella to downgrade to 3.x, then when that's done, hold down shift and click UPDATE, not restore, then select the desired 4.3 firmware, and when it's one, it should retain it's activated status from 3.x. It works for me, I've done it twice now.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the majority of people who are updating to 4.3 have there shsh's saved, or have there uuid registered, but i guess those select few who don't, are out of luck. I'm looking for another way, to activate, or restore, but meh, the majority of people already know this.

Well, not there only option, if they jailbreak it using redsnow, they can just remove the <key>Beta<\key> from the info plist, it can be activated.

I guess, but then again, the average user docent go around downloading and installing beta firmware, now do they? But, yes, there are options, I just posted my preferred method.

I also met that kind of problem when I downgrading iPhone 4 from 4.2b3 to 4.0.1
All I do is find another new computer that TinyUmbrella was not installed. A fresh one... I restore it and worked fine..

Restore iPad data from backup files, with the help of iPad Data Extractor:
1. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
2. You'll be asked twice to confirm
3. You'll see Apple logo and progress bar
4. You'll see a big iPad logo on screen
5. Configuration start
6. Set language
7. Set country
8. Select Network and input Password>Join
9. Enable Location Service>Next
10. You'll be given 3 options (a) Setup as New iPad (b) Restore from iCloud Backup (c)
