I have a jailbroken iPad 3G as well as an iPhone 4. I can take my active sim card out of my iPhone and put it into my iPad. The iPad recognizes it and I can use data. By default there is no phone on the iPad is there a way to add one. I want to be able to receive and make calls from my own AT&T phone number directly on my iPad. Has anyone heard of any way to do this?

I use trephine, but that's not going to use your number. You may want to look into google voice. I think theres a way to have your phone number linked to it.

It won't work. From what I heard, it is not possible to just copy over the phone app. You can use Skype, or some other VOIP, but not your SIM. Sorry for dashing any dreams...And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

Yah, VoIP is the only way to go, sadly. Would be nice to untap this potential...I'm sure it's possible.
