Thread: iPad iOS 3.2.1

  1. #1
    Default iPad iOS 3.2.1
I am starting this thread in hopes that we can get a disscousion going about the new firmware update and what it means for us few with ipad's on ModMyi.

Here are a few questions I have
-what is new in the update
-what are the options for downgrading if we choose to try it out (I have 3.2 SHSHs on file)
    -is it even worth updating

Let me know what you all are experiencing, or thoughts are on iOS 3.2.1

According to the Apple Support site, iOS 3.2.1 also fixes:

A glitch that could prevent a copy/paste of single-page PDF attachments in Mail

A bug that could cause video playback to freeze

Reliability of video-out when using the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter

EDIT: Primary fixes are wifi connectivity and adding bing to search options.

Can anyone 100% confirm that the wifi is functioning better now? Because the reception was soo poor on 3.2 (maybe its just another apple hardware problem! - design over functionality)

I just got my iPad today and still waiting for it to finish syncing all my music and apps.
I dont want to update straight away, I will give it at least a few days before I update.

Is there any real need to update? So far my wireless is working fine and I never use bing anyway.

Can it still be jailbreaked at the new firmware? I used Spirit to jailbreak it. Can we still use spirit to jailbreak again?

I guess I will have to wait and see what others or the devs say about this.

Already had SHSH Blob saved on Cydia, but as of about 30 MIns ago Apple was still signing 3.2 so my advice is to google SHSH save tools, put iPad into recovery and grab it fast. Then you will be fine to try 3.2.1 and if JB doesn't work or you just not happy you'll be free to roll your OS back at your own will.

If I get up the courage to do a restore and can be patient enough to reinstall everything will let you all know the outcome.

I got the latest umbrella and get a copy my my SHSH and have to wait till the sync finishes to make sure its on cydia..
As I just got it I'm in no hurry to update for a wireless issue that I'm not having atm.
If it was firmware 4.* then yea, I would update but not for these little fixes.

If you are Jailbroken don't upgrade until the new JB is out

    Hi there,

All I can say is that my friend has the latest update on his iPad, they have just done some fixes like wifi issues and improved the battery slightly, I think since this is the ipads first update since release then you should update because there will be slight fixes but wait if you need it to be jailbroken

My wife just got her iPad today, and she was a little disappointed to see that there wasn't a jailbreak available yet. It came with 3.2.1, but she likes it regardless. She is excited (as am I) to jailbreak and see what I can do as far as themes and whatnot to her iPad.

Still rockin' my itouch 1G and still loving it.
