Default Cydia slow to load changes
I've had my iPad for about 3 weeks now and recently (last week or so) whenever I've refreshed Cydia and tabbed across to the changes section it comes up with the usual loading changes pop up and the pop up stays there loading for best part of 2 minutes and it's really annoying. It wasn't doing this before and as far as I'm aware i hadn't installed anything when it started doing this
    Anybody else had this problem?
And has anyone come across a solution by any chance?

yup, this happened to me yesterday.i am on EDGE,so i wanted to ease my Cydia by removing Cydia Community source.but this leads to the same problem as you are experiencing.
put cydia community source in the search bar,it ll appear and check if it is installed or not.if not, install it.cydia comunity source adds ispazio and zodtt sources.for complete troubleshooting, check these sources separetly by puting their names in search bar of cydia.
    hope this helps you.

Just gave it a go. The sources were already there and I've tried reinstalling them and it's still doing it
    Thanks for trying though

I've always had this issue. With one of the updates to Cydia, it actually brought about a "loading changes" HUD image. But it still takes what seems like forever. I don't know what the dealio is...
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

I had the same problem, Cydia was taking forever to 'Load Changes'

    My fix was this:

    1) Navigate to /private/var/lib/cydia
    2) Delete metadata.plist. Make a backup before.

Right this is long overdue but I think I've nailed it

I opened cydia, tapped on sections, then edit, and I turned off all the sections to do with themes (I personally use my own theme work so I don't need them)

This has reduced the load time now from minutes to seconds

to fix cydia taking for ever to load changes on any device do this:

open cydia and wait for it to take forever to let you do stuff

    goto sections

    click edit

turn everything off, it and youre all set
