I've had my IPad for about 2 weeks and love it (wifi, 3G, 64gb). I have an iPhone that is unlocked and jail broken. Please give me good reasons to jailbreak my IPad. I'm looking for you to convince me to do so by giving examples of what you can do with the jailbroken iPad that I can not do and also apps available to jail broken ipads not available to me. Looking forward to all your comments and suggestions.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen. You obviously know what jb does seeing you did it to your phone. Why does someone need to convince you to do it to your iPad?

^ but honestly I'm not sure what apps on cydia work on ipad I know on iPhone I love backgrounder, 3g unrestrictor, winterboard, mywi to make your own 3g wifi hotspot.

honestly, i think if you have to ask then you don't see the point, but if you have your iPhone jailbroken maybe you've just lost sight of the point? Anyway, jailbreaking doesn't need reasons, it's about freedom and being able to modify or do whatever you want with YOUR device, anyway...now to your real question...to me it'd be for WinterBoard, themes on that thing would be sick!!!!!!! and lets be honest, i just wrote the first sentence to act like i know sh*tThe Next Generation of Phreaks.

The reason my IPhone is jailbroken is because I have Tmobile and it is unlocked. I like winterboard and other apps but I was not sure these would work with the ipad. The reason I asked the question is because I wanted to see what the community's favorite apps were for the Ipad and to get a general idea which apps I would use once I do jailbreak. I did not mean to offend anyone by the question and I believe that if you think this question is dumb than answering rudely seems even dumber. Thanks to those that do give advise. These board have always been a wealth of knowledge to me.

I would say more than 75% of Cydia apps work on the iPad right now. There is a link to a general list of benefits to jailbreaking. Of course there are a few that are only iPhone related.

Well these are my favorite jailbreak apps that work with iPad:
Lockinfo (sans appigo todo)
Circuitrous for app switching
Quite frankly these are enough reason alone to jailbreak your iPad.

There are literally thousands of apps in Cydia and 220,000 in the App Store. You just have to spend some time searching and looking around.

Come on now. This thread is useless lol. Jailbreak because you can. Nuff said. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

Try think of some reasons not to jailbreak. I can't think of 1.

multitasking alone is enough of a reason

I haven't jailbroken my ipad yet and I don't know what I'm waiting for but just a question: why hasn't geohot released anything to jailbreak the ipad? I see in his vid that he has a blackra1n but hasn't released yet. I also follow Musclenerd and he releases short vid but doesn't show the full capabilities of what the ipad can really do?

Because there is an exploit that works right now spiritjb.com.. There is no reason for him to release his exploit and have apple patch both in the next update.. When iOS4 comes out he might be the one that releases the exploit, or it might be another exploit that is released

If you seriously need to ask people why you should jailbreak then you don't really need to jailbreak...Apparently you know what a jailbreak is and kno it's possibilities but asking people if you should means u dont really need it but want an option...
