I didn't know where to post that, so i didi it here...feel free to move my post, if it is in the wrong place.
it happened a few times already, i lay in bed watch a movie and fall a sleep. Next morning the ipad is still on an the battery is at 2% :-/
I'd like to request a fairly simple app or mod.
I want some kind of countdown where i can specify a time for the ipad to turn off. Like the sleep function of the iphone/itouch. The ui could be very basic... Of course the app should be able to run in the background so you can watch a movie or whatever...
Let me know if there's already something like that...

Don't take this wrongly but dosnt apple already have this build into the settings.
Auto-lock it's called and it can tell if nothing is running.
E.g after you movie has finished it will auto lock at the time you set.

Well it does not work for me. I stream a movie through air video... I fall a sleep... In the morning airvideo is still open and the screen shining in my face...
I have autolock set to 5 minutes and it does not work...
No offence taken, try it yourself and you'll see that it doesn't work like you said.

Here's one idea. If you follow the steps found in this thread:
...you could copy the Clock App over from an iPhone/iPod, and continue to use the 'Timer' portion on the iPad...
I tested it over here, and it does work. Good luck.

Hmmmm...that seems like an idea! I will try it when i have a bit more time... Does the sleep timer work for all apps or just the ipod part?

I tested it with the iPod music, video and the game Angry Birds... it worked each time.
