It works perfectly for me. That is odd. I suggest using winscp and search for all parts of the app and manually delete it (after you delete first with Cydia). Then reinstall. It does not run in full screen but the dev has said he is working on an update.

Hi, I also have a little problem with Categories on my iPad. I have no problems running it and I created a folder called "iPhone Apps" where I wanted to keep all iPhone apps I need which are not iPad native yet.
Creating the folder also worked and moving the iPhone apps there, however I seem to be unable to give that folder an icon, in the springboard it always appears blank. I changed the icon a few times and recreated the folder but no luck, it works but looks ugly
The icon is there, when I SSH into my iPad I can see the icon.png file, it just doesn't show up in the springboard.
What else could I try to make it show up?

It works fine for me... but if I create a folder the icon shows up blank... but after few minutes it changes to the icon I have chosen in categories app...

After reading your post, I tried a few more times getting it working on my iPad, but no luck so far, I created another folder called "iPhone Apps" and chose an icon but it never showed up, the folder always just looks like a white square
Which icon did you choose and do you remember what you did before it showed up? I think I tried everything (respring, reboot, change the icon in the menu, add/remove apps from it...).
Thanks again and greetings

Try setting up your categories, pick your icons.
Then re-install categories from cydia.
It should render the category icons properly.

It works, but it sucks. It's in iPhone only mode, Full Force doesn't work with it really, and it is only on portrait. So if you're a user like me that almost always only uses landscape, you have to cock your head to the side.
Anyone know if they are making a real iPad version?

CategoriesSB has now been updated, and works great for iPad.

Does it support landscape mode? Is it still a small box in the center of the screen?

I couldn't tolerate Categories on iPad before. Now, its good enough to use. It will be better when landscape is enabled.

Edit ... I just checked and it has NOT been updated according to cydia. I just updated all my apps from there and categories was not one of them

No landscape is a deal breaker for me.

I already own CategoriesSB from my iPhone - so it was just a matter of waiting tll it was updated to work on the iPad. I can live without landscape in the categories until that gets updated. It doesn't stop landscape from working anywhere else.
Oh - I should mention - landscape DOES work in categories with CategoriesSB installed - but, when you open a category folder, it won't rotate after opening. If you open a category in landscape, it is landscaped. If you open a category in vertical, it stays vertical.

I made categories, but the icons don't seem to show up for some reason. Anyone else having this problem?
Edit: Nevermind. Was able to get around this by using Winterboard to theme the icons.

I'm not seeing the new 1.71 version of CategoriesSB in Cydia. Is there a different repo that's needed?
