Blackrain Jailbreak

Does anyone know if this works with a 3.12 phone running Blackrain for the Jailbreak?

I have to upgrade to 3.1x and I don't want to loose this app.

Yes it works.
i have 3.1.2 and have used blackra1n.

You lose the apps from cydia so then you have to reinstall them and if you have any c***k apps also reinstall

How long does Blackrain take to work? Mine has been sitting here for like 30 minutes and still in DFU mode and screen says running. Does it take a while to work? Or is mine just not working.

Can you tell me how you did it. It want to make sure when I do mine (it is already Jailbroken on v3.0) that I will still be able to run this. I have a friend who can't get his to run and I don't know exactly what he did.

I have an simfree iphone so i updated through itunes to 3.1.2
Start Blackrain wait for a minute and it is jailbroken.
Open Blackrain app on springboard and install Cydia or Rock.app
Install intelliscreen.
Done.

If you don't have a simfree iphone then you must use the new pwnagetool

if youre already jailbroken then you just need to run the pwnagetool and create a new ipsw for 3.1.2.. then use it to upgrade.. that way your baseband stays the same and is still unlockable. upgrading to 3.1.2 to do blackrain is senseless for you.

i have a jailbroken iphone 3g with spirit on 3.1.2 will it be ok if i jailbreak it with blackrain without restoring it?

It's already jailbroken, why do you need to jailbreak it again. And no you shouldn't run a jailbreak on an already jailbroken phone without restoring first.

yes it is jailbroken but i want to install bootlace. it is unlocked with ultrasnow and if I restore it should i take the sim card out before i restore?

I'm still not understanding why you need to use a different jb tool in order to install Bootlace. You start in Cydia...if you're jailbroken you already have Cydia.

ya but its jailbroken with spirit and i need redsn0w,blacrain or pwnage tool to install cydia. my iphone doesnt have a working power button so i cant put it into dfu mode

It's not jailbroken if it doesn't have Cydia... spirit should've given you Cydia all the same.

If you don't have Cydia now you should restore. Just shift+restore to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 and rejb as normal. Nothing special needs to be done, it's just that simple
