i just bought my iphone and i updated it to 1.1.4 through itunes the other day. i really want to get installer.app on it but i cant find any way of doing it safely without messing anything up. can someone please help me?

do you just want to jailbreak (use 3rd party apps) or unlock (use any gsm service provider) as well. You can use iPlus to do both or one if you want. (ziphone is also good if you just want to jailbreak, but its bootloader downgrade for unlocking is permanent. The process iPlus uses for unlocking is fully reversible.) After your done you will have the Installer.app on your iPhone. The first apps I would install are BSD subsystem and OpenSSH.

you can add the source: ride4.org/shai.xml and have the option to install over 70 sources as well.


Also: if your phone ever becomes unstable you can always do a restore with iTunes.
