Change location if iPhone data

I am a new user of iPhone 3GS and iTunes so I apologize if my question may seem too naive for experienced users.

I have 3 partitions (C,D and E) and two Windows XPs on my notebook. On a daily basis I am using the newer OS installed on partition E, but my iTunes library and my iPhone backups are on partition C.

I want to install Vista (and later Windows 7) on partition C and before I would like to transfer all my iPhone data to partition D in order not to loose it if something goes wrong with new OS installation.

Please advice how I can transfer information on apps on my iPhone to partition D and later synchronize iPhone with information on partition D
