Installer not functioning properly !

I haven't used installer for a while. Yesterday I tried to use it. Well first I opened it and try to update all the things needed to update it comes up with an errir message stating "Package download failed !" so I press OK ( the only option listed ). Then I try to install something, the same happens. Lastly I try to uninstall something and you can predict... the same message came up on the screen. Anyone know whats the problem ?

when you go to install or uninstall. you'll get the option to 'clear queue'.
that should sort your problem.
