I think what is meant by Installer using Cydia sources is a new Installer app for the mac that has been released. Supposedly it can download all your apps including Cydia apps then sync them to your iPhone. Sounds good in theory but...ITS NOT!
Yesterday for kicks and giggles I decided to throw a few $$ away and try it out of curiosity. The app on the Mac recognizes the Cydia repos sure enough (they neewd to be entered manually) It will sync the apps to your iPhone sure enough, BUT...
It messed up my real jailbreak. It took away my custom boot logo (I know can get it back with LogoMe), but more importantly it messed up many of my legitimate AppStore apps. I Upon SSH'in into the phone it placed a plist file into the appfolders. As i needed my phone and had to go to a meeting I just restored my phone before delving into it any farther.
Another reservation I have with a program like that is that if you were to use it to restore all your apps after a firmware upgrade ot restore, and you have a lot of Springboard mods installed like Five icon dock, five rows, five columns... that it might not install the apps in the correct order or do the required or recommended reboots and you'll end up with a mess.
My assessment is: Thumbs Down. If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. Its best to stick with apps and programs supported by teh proven track record of the Dev. Team.
