Installer Repository: Detecting if directory exists

hi again,
my first question resolved itself. since my topic was still on page 1 I don't see the reason to open up a new one. Since I have a new question I just post the new question here:

Is there any way to check if a directory exists via an installer script? Since I need to perform different actions based on whether a directory exists or not.
