Installer App quit working?

So i jailbroker, 1.1.2 everything was working fine, have 3 pages of icons. I was going to install python, and it just quit working. It downloads the package, goes to "installing package" and then just goes to the home screen on iphone. Sometimes it says "cannot connect to host" and sometimes it just goes back to the home screen. I went to uninstall, and chose to reinstall the "installer" program, and now when i tap on installer, it doesn't load at all. Any help?

Did you reset the permissions to 755?

Uhm..i have some idea what i'm doing, but i'm definiitely not a pro. How do I do what you speak of?

Well if you ssh into your phone from your computer using cyberduck (mac) or winscp(win) you need to make sure that the permissions on the app are set to 755.

Ok, downloaded WinSCP, click on SSH, and it gives me some protocol options and encryption options...??? sorry

You should read the wiki, read about ssh'ing into the phone and installing apps. Its not to common now but it might fix your problem.

If I didn't have SSH installed from installer app, can I still do it?

When I enter IP address, username and pw, change to SCP, and hit login, I get "server unexpectedly closed network connection"

Try the username as root and the password as alpine

That's what I'm putting in..just keeps saying "server unexpectedly closed network connection"

Installer kind of opens up, like it wants to work, but it doesn't load and then it just closes and goes back to the home screen.

anybody? any help? I just ssh'd into my friends iphone, but when i try mine it keeps saying server terminated connection. Could this have something to do with the apptapp beta update?

I'm having the same problem. I've double checked the permissions and they are correct. It has been working fine for about two weeks. I have bosstool installed and have enough space. Right when it first started to happen I could get in about 50% of the time. I ran the reinstall through installer but didn't change anything. Now it won't open at all.
