The whole idea is that you need to have some access to the server to manage packages & all stuff like that. I use samba for example. PM me when you'll finish. I'm looking forward to see your big project.

Oh wow.
You might want to Google web hosting and do a little research.

To be honest, if you don't know what FTP or a server/hosting is, you shouldn't be making a repository.
Use Wikipedia. Read up on FTP and hosting, etc.

I don't even know what you're saying there, ha.
IF you really want to go ahead with this.
1st - you need a hosting plan. Bluehost.com is great, or explicit-hosting.com. It will be roughly $6-8/month for these, generally paid in advance for a full year.
2nd - you need an FTP client. For Windows I like AlFTP. There are tons.
3rd - THEN you can start trying to create a source.

Kind of same problem
im trying to make a repository, but Im having some trouble configuring the xml. When I try to install a zipped file (with the .app folder inside it) I receive a message like "mail script execution failed" after the download. I dont know much about programming, but it should be easy for this to work (I copy/pasted other sources XML and edited for my needs).
The file size is correct, but I dont understand the "date" value on the XML for each zip file. Am I missing something ?
