Installer on iphone 2.0

Hello,
I just installed the 2.0 firware (jailbroken) and well, I am trying to install installer by open SSH.
I simply put the installer.app in the applications folder with all the other apps. Now when i try to lauch the application (from my phone), it just fires up and then brings me back to my home screen.
Has anyone had succes getting installer working on the 2.0 firmware?

Could be permission related or, maybe, just Installer doesn't like version 2.0 yet.
On 1.1.4 i did exact what you are doing on 2.0 and I remember it was, indeed, permission related...

The big trouble here is that I don't think any BSD Subsystem works right now on 2.0 for you to change permission via ssh. You are screwed dude...

im trying to enjoy the app store but im not managing to sync my apps to my phone (why, I do not know).
I think installer just may not like it for now.
Anyways to jailbreak it, I followed the instructions you can find on the news page, I didnt actually jailbreak it, I Pwned it.

I can guarantee you he isnt using the goldmaster. Its probably one of the first beta builds he's using

The reason installer is not working on your phone is that it has NOT been updated for 2.0 yet. some sources say it is in the works I think there is a story about it on iclarified and some say it wont be, I know that as of yesterday the dev team when they release the new pwn tool it will have cydia on it. I was not fond of it in the past but redownloaded it last night after watching the video and it has greatly improved and is a lot easier to use.
I only wish there was a recently updated or added tab like in installer

What is it that you think the Changes section on Cydia is for? It's a list of recently changed/added software and it is far, far superior to Installers "recent packages" section.

So there is no way as of now to use the Installer on 2.0.
I just unlocked the Phone to 2.0 using the Elliot C. Back's Windows approach.
Mainly i just want to get my hands on SwirlyMMS again. Any word on when
they want to adjust Installer to work with 2.0?

I think it's not just installer that needs to be upgraded, but all the apps have to be ported over. so it could be awhile before you get access to some of these programs. (or possible never if they don't port them to 2.0).

Also yes the makers of the app have to port them, as they have the actual source code for the apps
