Upgraded to 1.1.2... just want installer again

I had 1.0.2 with installer and all the applications I ever wanted and it was great. I was bored over Thanksgiving and upgraded my AT&T phone to 1.1.2. I just want to put the installer back on my phone. I keep seeing all these ways to unlock and jailbreak but do i need to do that? What do I need to do to simply get the installer back on my phone?

You have to downgrade to 1.1.1 and install oktoprep then upgrade to 1.1.2 and jailbreak it. Installer will be installed then.

Should i just wait for 1.1.3 or whatever the next firmware is to come out? I thought i read it's better to wait for the next up grade and then start modding.
