Is the AppStore an Installer.app Killer?

i mean, the appstore is going to offer us so many great apps, all of top quality for a price.
i am all for supporting developers and that, but i mean, if i paid for every app ive downloaded so far, i'd have no money left to buy the 3g iphone!

do you think that the official appstore apps will be made free on Installer? seriously.

just to clarify before you flame me, i am all for supporting the devs and paying for apps as they shouldn't work for free blah blah. but is it even possible to do this and will it be done?

i'd sure love to download super monkey ball ..... for free

I think that the app store will be kind of secondary compared to installer. It is going to be hard to get an app on the App Store bc they have to review them before it gets added. With installer we can add apps when we want. In the case of adding paid apps to installer so we get them for free...I have a feeling that maybe a DRM type of thing will be compiled with the apps so only the app store can add them to your iPhone. But we will see.

Most of the applications on appstore are going to cost money... Guaranteed. I love Cydia, and I'm sticking with it :P

I'll only use the App Store to download free apps such as IM clients and demo's. I'll never leave trusty installer or cydia. I won't be updating as soon as the official 2.0 is released.

Speaking of app killer... i saw this on AppleInsider this evening.

Researcher discovers long-publicized iPhone app "kill switch"

By Aidan Malley

An author has confirmed infrastructure behind Apple's code signing system for iPhone applications that would allow the company to blacklist and remotely deactivate rogue apps, even after they've been purchased and downloaded by users.
