    Default Installer.app copied to app folder not working ?

    I have copied installer.app folder manually via pc its default permissions are 644 when i start it loads for 30 sec then closes itself .
    And when i set permissions to 755 or 777 it crashes immediately HELP

    use the following commands:

    chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app/
    chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer

    i m actually using squid on my phone for permissions so tell me a way for that . Plz help its urgent TIA.

    try what i suggested in an earlier post, rename or delete the remotepackages.plist file in the var/mobile/Library/Installer directory (I think that's it) and start installer and see if it still crashes, that's how i fixed that problem for me! :-p good luck!

    I have checked that folder & not having plist file i m using 1.0.2 firmware & I have uninstalled previous updated installer & manually pasted the installer folder .
