is Wi-Fi mandatory to use Installer??

i connected my iphone to a machine that has an internet connection through a server.. its at my work.. but i cannot do anything with the installer.. everytime i select something and hit install it gives me an error message as - "cannot find host"..
any suggestions?

You need Wifi or you need to SSH into your Iphone and put the folders in the correct spot

so it means that just any computer with an internet connection is useless??!!
i do not have wireless here and i am not sure if we have the EDGE in india.. so..

GPRS works too...
I think you can, but you have to install some proxies, or something on your phone. Sorry I'm not much help. I have a WiFi router...

Installer works over GPRS and EDGE but its sh*t slow, you can browse files through installer but theyre not uptodate. Wifi is the only way to go.
