can`t install with installer?

hi no matter what i do i keep getting main script execution failed when i try to download certain apps or update certain apps like caterpillar,etc.... i used pwnage on 1.1.4 firmware then symlinked the applications folder to var/mobile/Applications. it seems like that is what`s causing the problem. i even tried reinstalling bsd subsystem and get main script execution failed also. can some1 please help. i think alot of people have been having the same issue. also i have 108 apps in my applications folder.after caterpiller failed i launched it and it says : insufficient permissions the installer was launchedwith insufficient permissions. please reinstall it using installer.app and try again(not running as root or not setuid root) thanx

well this guide will solve all the installer problems. http://sleepers.net/blog/?page_id=25
it worked right after. i installed caterpillar fine then restarted and tried another app and get the error. what`s the problem?

when i run it from terminal this is the output:

Main execution script failed -
Are you seeing this on every package? Installer 3 added queuing. Clear your queue. When you try to install or uninstall something, it stays in queue. If it fails it stays in the queue until it’s removed or it succeeds. Each time you try to install another package, the failed one will run again and you will likely get the same error. Clear the queue and try installing something else and it may work.
Depending on how you installed installer, it may not have the proper permissions. To operate correctly on 1.1.3/4 or newer, it needs to be owned by root and have 6755 attributes. You can use SSH or SCP to make sure that the permissions are correct. In SSH type:
chmod +s /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

how do you put that in winscp

i did all of that and it still doesn`t work. the only thing i can think of is when i manually symlinked the applications folder. does bosstool relocate the apps on 1.1.4? i could install apps fine before i ran out of space. i restored twice already because of this and the apps that error now won`t error until i symlink the folder. any thoughts?

I had a similar problem.... remember to set group and owner to root:wheel on the symlink and the actual folder...
