Trouble Formatting part of my drive

i have my drive partitioned into 4 parts, 1 for Vista, 1 for Ubuntu, one for the HP recovery, and another that i was going to use to put OSX on, well when i use iDeneb i go into disk utilities be4 installing and try to change the partition from NTFS(which i did using adminstrative tools in vista) to HFS so i can install OSX, but it keeps teliing me its an illogical request or some nonsense like that, any help i know this place is kinda dead but any help is nice
